Amberjack Solar Energy Launches Rethink Overhead Campaign
Problem: Government rebates for solar power projects are at an all-time high but run out in 2011. The government is offering to pay for 30% of the system cost, but the grant must be acted on by December 31st.
The lack of a widely advertised awareness campaign coupled with the lack of a clear, concise resource explaining these grants and the benefits has made accessing and acting on them very difficult.
Solution: Create a web-based resource that distills all of the vital information and creates a time-sensitive call to action. Market the site to executive level "decision makers" through banner ads and political talk radio media outlets.
|
Stage 1 >> Rethink Overhead: Creative & Website The first stage was to develop a campaign to target our executive "decision maker" market, create a website that would act as a splash page for the existing Amberjack Solar Energy site and direct all radio and banner ad creative to this site. With the splash page in place we were able to establish a trackability system. |

Stage 2 >> Media Buy & Banner Ads To target our specific audience, we purchased air time with WOR radio during the John Gambling show. Units were purchased through the end of the year and the creative would be read by the show's host, John Gambling. In conjunction with the buy the creative was implemented in banner ads that would run on WOR.com and the John Gambling page. |

Stage 3 >> Radio Spots Next we developed scripts for the radio spots. The format would be conversational with Gambling personally speaking to his audience, informing them of the incentives deadline as well as driving them to Rethink:Overhead.com as a concise, simple-to-understand resource. |
|
|
Stage 4 >> Philanthropic Added Value Through the generosity of Amberjack Solar Engery, The DSM Group was able to take advantage of some added value and get an on-air interview with the client, John Gambling and Dr. Joy Browne. During the interview the client announced that he would not only be donating the agreed upon $1000 to the Salvation Army, but would additionally donate a complete solar system to a NJ Salvation Army location. |

Stage 5 >> On-going Social Media Throughout the broadcast process the events where recorded and disseminated among various social media outlets including Amberjack's blog, Flicker, Twitter and Facebook. |

At The DSM Group we stress the importance of hiring simply the best people for the job. So far, so good. Our hiring practices have proven successful in the past but about a year ago we decided to embark on a little experiment. We gave the project the code name of "Operation Wunderkind." In short, this goal of this experiment was to create the perfect creative. We started at the begining. Nine months later "Operation Wunderkind" is well underway. On December, 30th at 8:04am Darren and Samantha welcomed their son, and second child, Luca Samuel Sebastian Magarro. Let the grooming begin!
